Sheesh, the cold and flu season is working hard to take this ship down.
It's been almost 2 years since I actually have "caught" something. I've fought off plenty a cold, and this time one has rooted, but it's not a biggie.
I'm going to say that I'm pretty sure my ability to stave off these colds is 90% me avoiding sugars and all that other crap.
Lately I've been a bit lax, well with the banana cream pie for my birthday, and the ice cream my husband keeps buying.
Low and behold now I have a mini cold.
I've compiled a couple of my favorite drinks for when this season comes around.
The green drink up there is my favorite still. It's pineapple, yogurt, apple juice, cilantro, ginger and jalapeƱo These days I really don't use the agave or honey that my original recipe calls for, but to each his own. This drink still pumps me up and I especially like it after I've been sick and the sinuses still need some clearing.
I've found that this tea remedy has been especially effective for when my throat is feeling a bit tingly. Don't let the coconut oil keep you from this. It's not hard to drink and I think it actually adds a nice flavor to the tea.
My kombucha brewing is still in full tilt and that has really been one of my favorite drinks to perk up my face. I mean literally my face hurts, but I feel like the kombucha keeps me running. It's not like when mom gets sick she can lay in bed ALL day. I seem to grab a kombucha when I start to feel run down and it keeps me going a little bit longer.
I'll show you my continuous kombucha brewing set up soon. I'm testing it out first.
So what do you eat or drink to keep yourself up above the rough waters of cold and flu season?

Plenty of onions and garlic, and a tsp of reishi tincture in my tea each morning!
