This cartoon is totally us. We usually need a couple just for some reassurance.
So I've missed cooking very much. Don't get me wrong I love to eat out, but I also love making people food. It's just every time I think I can make something to eat, I get half way through and the smell puts me over edge. Garlic, onions, mushrooms in a skillet with butter, all of these smells were wonderful beginnings. Now they make my throat go a bit tight and I reach for the frozen waffles, or the phone. Unfortunately my kitchen has seen more pizza boxes than me. This is wreaking havoc on Cambrell's diet. We've learned a few things however: Gluten is indeed not kind to him, and I love Mexican food. That is one thing that I will eat it just about every time it's in front of me.
I dream about foods when I'm pregnant. I didn't eat meat for like almost 10 or 12 years until I was pregnant with my son. Then I started to have dreams of wonderful fleshy medallions of steak, my fork gently piercing the juicy exterior and my knife slowly slicing away a tender pink slice. I decided that morning I liked meat again and promptly told someone to get a hamburger. I crave the foods from restaurants of my youth. One podunk little town, a small Mexican restaurant - Botana Junction, and a delicious "burrito" with marinated steak thinly sliced, guacamole, and a thin buttery tortilla. I wish I had scheduled a vacation this year.
I think I'm almost over this stage. I got in there today and made some rolled chicken. Sauteed mushrooms with garlic, red pepper flakes, artichokes, and roasted red peppers. Stuffed with mozzarella in thin chicken cutlets rolled up, baked with sauce. I'm actually very excited to be back in the saddle.

Jael did help me one night make a wonderful simple dinner of twice stuffed potatoes. We made really kicky cream spinach, mixed that in baked potatoes, added some cheese on top and we were good. He's a good cook, and I really appreciate his willingness and wanting to help me out.

Old news, my mom's birthday we had to go out (due to one crappy potato soup, and one large craving for a taco). I managed to pull off this lemon tart. Everyone enjoyed it and it was so much fun. So that's my news and the saga that is known as take out.
