Merry Floor Pie!

Wow, I just wrote a good 2 paragraphs and just lost it all. Hmmm. Well I just told you all about the lovely Christmas we had. Now I sort of lost my mojo. It involved Christmas tamales, a new bike, boards, a lot of guitar hero, a little floor pie, and Anty T and Theran. So can you fill in the rest?

Well I just feel very blessed to have had such a good Christmas and hope that everyone had a wonderful time as well. I made a slide show of some of our good times. I didn't get one of Theran, but Jael got lots of everyone on his new video camera. As soon as I figure his out I'll load some of his work. I've already encountered the "don't video tape anyone in the shower, that's not funny." I can already see that getting to YouTube.

The Ick

So the ick has spread and taken another. Cambrell had to stay home from work today and hasn't left the room all day. He's slept for about 8 hours. This place is infested. So lets move outside.

Have you all met Spunky? That is the name of the lemon tree that Michael and Jamie gave me. It has earned it's name because despite it's youth, small size, and extreme summer temperature it has given us fruit. It is lousy with fruit on one side. It may not be the best lemons at this point, but it's early on.

This is a picture of Cambrell speaking to the tree, in his PJ's (he might kill me for this). He said we had to, little did he know I have been talking to Spunky all along. That is why it is so spunky. I even told it I would come and hang on to it during a dust storm if was too windy (this was days after it was planted and I wasn't going to lose it to some crappy dust storm). So when I'm outside I tell Spunky how cool it is and that I love it. And apparently it loves us back. Thank you Jamie and Michael

House of Yum

Another day at home and Jael was still feeling like junk. Just another winter cold but the poor guy looks like sickness on a plate. I thought that building their gingerbread house would cheer him up. The thought of it did, but seeing him in the pictures he doesn't look too cheery. Well, it was a good try and they made a fun mess. This is how the house turned out. I mean come on - who wouldn't want to live in this. Solid royal icing construction, and such a cute tree out front. There was some slight structural damage to the roof, but who needs a roof?

what a day

Today was a most .... long day. Jael got tubes in his ears today, but I had a seminar today that was already scheduled. I was really thinking of canceling, but I decided to relinquish control and let Cambrell handle it. I hated not being there, but the doctor and nurses before hand kept saying how quick and simple it all was. So I figured, it wasn't that big of deal. POOR JAEL. He wasn't feeling good before he went in and was running a fever. They decided to still do the surgery and all was good, but when he woke up he was trippin'. The doctor told Cambrell that kids typically have no side effects because they aren't under very long and don't get as much. He wasn't good. He threw up, and now he has a cold. Crappy day for him. I hated the fact that I wasn't here, but Cambrell handled it all alone.

So here is the happy happenings to forget yucky sicknesses and tubes. A few weeks ago I took the kids to my mom's school to see some snakes that one of the ladies she teaches with has. It was so cool. They were so fun to hold. The kids were good. Eliana even held "Ricco"

Sunday morning we woke up late and decided we needed some "French pancakes". This is a recipe developed by my grandpa. I don't know why he became obsessed with this pancake, but I am glad he did. It isn't really a crepe and not really a pancake I suppose that is why he named it a French pancake. He used to make them for us every time we would come and visit. There would be tales of who ate the most (you can eat a lot, they're thin). He would stand at the stove and make them one by one, and you would be about ready to burst waiting for your turn. Then finally yours would be delivered and this is a crucial moment. They are served with powdered sugar and a squeeze of lemon. You could potentialy ruin the whole go around if you accidentally messed up the balance of sugar to lemon. Then you are waiting even more impatiently for your next turn at a pancake. My grandpa never ate until everyone else is finished. The recipe is sketchy, so it's one of things you have to experience to make. Perhaps I should have a "French Pancake" party so ya'll can bask it the joy that is my grandpa's tradition.

So sorry!

So yesterday was Cambrell's birthday, and this is my public apology to him. I woke up and reminded Jael to wish Cambrell happy birthday, but upon returning from taking him to school it's like it slipped out of my head. Cambrell woke up, started his day and got a giant nothing from me. To top it off I thought he was acting like a meanie. So about 3 hours later I remember and by then it is just so late that I was feeling like an idiot. I mean who wants to hear from their wife -"oh yeah that's right it's your birthday." That's what he got. NO CAKE EVEN! This is my big I AM SORRY! You are my air Cambrell, how can I forget your day? At the last minute I was able to whip up a big birthday dinner, but man, do I feel like a loser!

Today Jamie and I ventured to the fabric store and I had to take a quick picture of the babies. My back seat hasn't looked so cute, teddy bears and all. The people at Joanne's didn't think we were so cute after 20 minutes. The kids were done! Needless to say the car ride home wasn't as sweet either. But after chips, sandwiches and naps all is fine with the world.
